{1} Documentary evidence of a possible post-medieval settlement; an area of c1km square defined by several parish boundary changes; possibly suggestive of small land unit and settlement. The first reference is c 1300 AD. The name a possible derivation of 'Healh'- "nook" or "corner"; Fieldname: West Hale;
