Full Description

{2} Bronze Age burials discovered in an old quarry. In 1888 a 'food vessel' was 'found between the skulls of two skeletons'. The pot turned out to be a beaker and is now held at the British Museum.

{3} A Bronze Age food vessel 'found between the skulls of two skeletons' in 1888, in a pit east of Elton Station by John Laurence and in the Peterborough Museum. [May have been found in Elton Ballast Hole at TL 079944.]

{4} Feature identified during quarrying in 1888. Two skeletons in a pit with a Bronze Age pot vessel. Found east of Elton Station by John Laurence; TL08009476. Urn in B.Mus = Beaker.

{5} Present location of food vessel as above {4}, neither the museum nor Mr Wyman Abbott can offer information regarding a precise site. TL 079 946: Sited to the area of Elton Ballast Hole.
