Full Description

{1} Watching brief during excavation of underground car park 1989. Medieval and Post medieval pits and foundations. One pit dated to 13-15th century, and an associated pit or cellar contained 12-14th century pottery. Features presumed to lie within backs of tenements fronting market place.

{2} Pit or cellar with 12th to 14th century pottery, earliest pit had pottery of the 13th to 15th century. All the features are thought to have been situated within the backs of tenements fronting Market Place.

{3} Medieval occupation deposits, watching brief by G Cadman.
