Full Description

{1} Several undated skeletons were recorded from Newbottle Spinney and may have come from stone quarrying.

SP 517 365: "At Newbottle Spinney which is one mile and a half south east from Blackland (SP 43 NE 1) several skeletons have been found.

{2} Fieldname: Newbottle Spinney

{4} - Newbottle Spinney (the summit of a hill) is pockmarked with small surface quarries and it seems likely that the burials were found while the quarrying was taking place.
