Full Description

{1} A 14/15C ampulla inscribed "Our Lady of Walsingham".

{4} Pilgrim ampulla, lead, decorated on one side with a flower & on the other a crowned W flanked by the letters s & d.

{5} Identified as a Walsingham ampulla & very similar in design to a find from Castle Rising, Norfolk.

{6}A 14/15th century ampulla inscribed "Our Lady of Walsingham" was found at SP 53165285 by Mrs D Beck. The ampulla has been classified and has been retained by Jocelyn Morris, Warwick Museum. The site is under pasture and no surface finds were made.
