Full Description

{1} It is possible that the wall was built by Sir Henry Dryden as part of his restoration, presumably with the intention of creating drainage around the church walls and combatting dampness.

{2} The churchyard retaining wall on the east side of the church was recorded prior to repair work being undertaken. Surface cleaning revealed an intact structure underneath, but there was no dating evidence present. Detailed photographic archive taken.
