Full Description

{1} A cut feature traced for 6m in the sides of the trench. It was filled with a brown sandy clay loam containing fragments of ironstone, some burnt and with occasional clay mottles. At a depth of between 40-60cm below the turf were over 100 sherds of Iron Age pottery. None of the sherds were diagnositc enough to date to more than general iron Age. It is likely they originate from a single large vessel.

{2} c.100sherds of Iron Age pottery, probably all from a single vessel, were retrieved from the fill of a cut feature at least 6m wide. Within the hillfort's defences.
