Monument record 683/0/1 - Mass Grave, Possibly Following The Battle of Naseby
Please read our guidance about the use of Northamptonshire Historic Environment Record data.
Summary
In 1842, Edward Fitzgerald dug into a mound in an attempt to locate the centre of the civil war battlefield. Numerous skeletons were found in a communal grave and though the site is just to the west of the battlefield there is no reason to doubt that this is a grave connected with the battle.
