Full Description
{1} Observation during development, on 29/6/88 & 5/7/88, at SP 68714940. Undated, but probably Roman, ditches or gullies were found. Unstratified finds of 7 pot sherds and 2 tile fragments. Possibly associated with tenements fronting onto Watling Street to the east.
{2} Observation 50m west of Watling street. Ditch and two gullies found. Features undated though there was some Roman pottery unstratified. The paucity of archaeological material suggests that the area lay outside or was peripheral to any Roman activity fronting Watling Street.
