Full Description
{1} Excavation by Jackson in 1983 revealed evidence of dumping in the great ditch of domestic refuse. Refuse included imported items: Box, Marigolds, Coriander, Figs and also cobblers waste. No structural evidence was uncovered.
{2} Woodfield has suggested the presence of a leather working area within the south west quarter of the town on the basis of leather working waste recovered from the 'late moat' in this area. The context of this material is unknown to the author, however, and is not phased or dated by Woodfield.
