Monument record 809/0/1 - Possible C17th Plague Burials, Unlocated
Please read our guidance about the use of Northamptonshire Historic Environment Record data.
Summary
According to Baker, several skeletons were found while lowering the Chester Road beyond the Depot in Weedon in the early 19th century. Baker assumed that the find may have been related to a plague which hit Weedon in 1625, when according to local accounts, the dead were buried in the fields around Weedon. As RCHME notes, the particular find could be of any date from the Roman period onwards.
