Full Description

{1} Find "from a gravel pit at Heyford"

{2} A partly polished stone axe was found in 1941 in a gravel pit in the parish (in Daventry School Museum).

{3} (SP 66615841). A dark-grey, semi-polished stone axe was found about here by Mr Carrington in 1941. It was lent by him to Daventry School, where it is on show in the school museum.

{4} Mr Carrington is not known locally and could not be traced. The axe is on show in Daventry Sec Mod School Museum labelled " ... from a gravel pit at Heyford, Northants. Lent by P Carrington 1941".
