Full Description

{1} 1840 by Sampson Kempthorne. Constructed of ironstone. Lancet style with a polygonal apse. Bellcote with one bell. Over the west door is a wheel window.

{2} The church of St James is a substantial structure in the early English style; it was erected in 1840, and is of Brixworth and Duston: it contains nave and apsis; the roof is of open woodwork throughout….the apsis is lighted by three lancet-shaped windows of stained glass.
