Full Description

{1} Flint implements, described as spears, were found in 1949.

{2} Prehistoric flint finds (uncertain date) found in 1949 and given to Northampton Museum.

{3} Flint "spearhead" found (SP 6739 7315) in 1949, by Mrs W Smith, "The Red Lion", Guilsborough. It was presented to Northampton Museum. Also a second, but broken "spear" found in the same place, it was slightly larger than the first.

{4} The "Red Lion" is no longer a public house and according to Post Office records no Smith has ever held the licence. In 1949 Mr Simms was landlord; he is now dead.
