Full Description

{1} FINDS; PRE 1969; HALF OF BA PERFORATED STONE AXE HAMMER; INSPOIL HEAP FORMED BY DREDGING OF BRADLEM POOL (1);,

{2} BRONZE AGE PERFORATED STONE BATTLE AXE OF GROUP XIV (2);
Iron Age and Roman settlement (SP 763433) in the E of the village, on limestone at 80 m. above OD. Sherds of late Iron Age and 1st century Roman pottery were revealed during building work on this site.

{3} Prehistoric flint and stone implements gathered along the N side of Wakefield estate (Wakefield Lodge SP 7342) are in the possession of Mr Munden of Gullet Farm.

{4} Finds made by Mr Munden and in his possession include half of a BA perforated stone axe hammer and RB pottery.
The fragment of axe hammer was found at SP 73324426 in a spoil heap formed by the dredging of Bradlem Pool.
The RB pottery has been found over the years from the Ro villa site, SP 74 SW 2.

{5} (SP 73504432). Butt end of a stone battle axe found in 1946 an earth dug from a stream just east of Bradlem Pond on the boundary of Pottersbury and Yardley Gobion parishes. Donated to Northampton Museum.
