Full Description

{1} Tumuli shown on map: those near village N of footpath mentioned above, the others to the SW (at approx SP 751462.NB: map inaccurate in other cases) (nothing visible on AP's).

{2} At the S end of the village (Grafton Regis) opposite the inn, near the footpath leading to Alderton, are two tumuli of oblong shape, and in the adjoining field to the W are two more (SP 751463).

{3} There are said to have been at least four 'tumuli of oblong shape' but no trace exists on the ground or on air photos. This may be an incorrect reference to the monastic and manorial site (SP752467) which, before destruction, consisted of an uneven area of earthworks.

{4, 5} Not traced. The area has been arable for some years and the mounds have probably been ploughed out.
