Full Description
{3} The excavation identified a total of 155 features of which only 36 produced pottery. This paucity of finds may suggest that the area is peripheral to both the Saxon and medieval settlement. Seven pits and a gully each contained a single sherd of early to middle Saxon pottery. While they may attest to activity at that period, a later date could also be possible given the limited amount of pottery at the site.
