Summary
In 1988, during the the excavation of a service trench across a possible medieval frontage at Thorpe End, a significant quantity of Saxon, medieval and post-medieval pottery was recovered. A possible ditch and limestone rubble was noted in the sides of the trench.

Full Description
{1} Watching brief undertaken in 1988 as part of the Raunds Survey. Possible ditch and limestone rubble noted in the sides of the trench. Ten sherds of early Saxon pottery, 135 sherds medieval, 18 sherds of late medieval and 34 sherds of post-medieval pottery were recovered;
{6}Early and late Saxon, medieval and late medieval and post medieval pot sherds indicate activity, if not occupation, along the frontage.
