Find Spot record 1328/0/6 - Unstratified Romano-British Finds

Roman pottery, stone rubble and much dark soil were revealed when topsoil was stripped for pipeline construction near the bottom of a hill slope north of the Willow Brook. A ditch system had been previously been seen on air photographs but the site is undated.

{3} FINA pipeline. Roman pottery, stone rubble and much dark soil were revealed when the topsoil was stripped near the bottom of a hill slope, just north of Willow Brook. Most of the pipeline corridor was subsequently covered over and protected and no stone walls were revealed. A ditch system had been previously recorded from the air but the site was undated. Much of the pottery found along the pipeline is colour coated and dates to the later Roman period.
