Full Description
{1}Occupation site and enclosures. Air photos show a large rectangular ditched enclosure, respected by the surrounding ridge and furrow. The site may be the extreme south part of the settlement remains or a separate medieval site. Excavation of 13th century long house; exact location unknown. A stone rectangular building 4.6m wide and at least 8m long with paved and cobbled yards, medieval pottery, animal bone and a bronze ring.
{5, 6} (Area centred SP89265817) Cropmarks on Hollowell's APs are of varying date. The double ditch running NW-SE is the remains of a track or road shown on the original 1" (1820-30). The large enclosure cropmark is probably Md as it follows the line of the rig and furrow. On the RAF APs a clear area surrounded by rig and furrow with a faint cropmark is seen.
{7} Site now under oats, not perambulated. No surface indications of desertion noted adjacent to Easton
Maudit.
