Full Description
{1} Socket stone of medieval cross; octagonal upper bed. Now in church.
{2} In the church yard at Newton stands the socket of an ancient cross, to the SW of the S door.
{3} The socket stone at Newton has an octagonal upper bed, and an octagonal mortise. It appears to have been moved, as in its present position it does not stand square with the church.
{4} The cross base now stands inside the church. See photo.
