Summary

Full Description

{1} Features found in 1965. Saxon inhumation with two cruciform brooches, found during pipelaying at SP986797.

{2} Anglo-Saxon inhumation burial with two brooches found April 1965 at a depth of 2ft 6in during pipe laying. The brooches were of the cruciform type, the larger, 8in by 5in, was delicately ornamented and dated by the British Museum to around 600 AD. The smaller brooch, 3in by 2in, was plain and difficult to date precisely.

{3} The largest brooch was dated to AD600 by the British Museum. Grid ref: SP98587944
