Full Description

{1} Burials (TL 025797) found in 1967 during the demolition of a cottage in the village. Numerous skeletons were discovered, allegedly of 12th-century date. Limestone foundations and part of a buttress suggested a 12th-century building.

{2} On demolition of a cottage many skeletons were unearthed. These proved to be part of a 12th century churchyard which had been cut off from the main burial ground. Strong limestone foundations and a buttress against the fill away of the ground northeastwards indicated a larger building beneath the cottage. In rubble adjacent to the site were pieces of worked stone of an earlier date than the church .
