Full Description

{1} Earthwork; Roman road visible for over 400m as it passes through Oakley Purlieu and forms the parish boundary between Corby and Little Oakley; the agger is over 0.6m high in places and there is a narrow ditch for part of the way on the south side and water filled hollows on the north side; the distance between the ditches is approximately 27m.

{2} Beyond the railway, along the boundary between South Wood and Oakley Purlieus, the road continues on the same alignment as a well-marked agger, 18m wide and 0.25m high, with traces of side ditches. It then runs parallel with and 10m north of the north-east side of Oakley Purlieus (SP89848731-90058719). Where it is 12m wide and 0.25m high with a limestone rubble core, now much spread by ploughing.
