Full Description

{1} Possible Bronze Age burial. The discovery during ironstone mining in 1923 of a large globular urn of Middle Bronze Age type, containing human bones, was reported, but this urn may have been confused with Site (9) Saxon pots from the area of c.SP9477 held in Twywell Church and labelled as from 'Twywell Glebe'.

{3} (SP 94287715) Urn found AD 1923.

{5} The Keeper of Ant. Northampton Museum stated that this urn was in Twywell church. There is a LBA globular urn in a showcase in the church labelled "...from Twywell Glebe" but no information regarding its precise provenance or date of find was gained.
