Map

Type and Period (2)

Full Description

{1} Map of 1587 shows area of earthworks already abandoned by this time.

{2} Map of 1684 shows area of earthworks already abandoned by this time.

{3}Settlement remains (SP 850698) immediately S and SW of the church. The remains of earthworks much damaged by later quarrying suggest a
rectilinear layout following and extending the extant arrangement of the village streets. The sites in this area were already abandoned on maps of 1587 and 1684, Medieval and later population figures do not suggest a period of population decline.

{4} Earthworks visible in only part of the area defined by the RCHME survey.
