Full Description

{1} Fieldwalking by Hollowell between 1963 and 1971. At SP805644 were found Romano-British pot sherds including samian, colour-coated, calcite gritted, grey ware, and fragments of mortaria as well as a limestone scatter, part of a quern, part of a bronze bracelet, a bronze C3rd-C4th coin, an antoninianus of Claudius II (Rev: Provident Aug Ric 94), animal bones, worked flints and dark patches in the soil.

{2} Fieldwalking in 1971 by J.Williams, J.Small and A. Boddington recovered Iron Age and Romano-British pot sherds dating from the C1st to C4th. SP805644. Also found was an antoninianus of Claudius II (AD268-70)

{5} Roman pottery, of C1st to C4th AD, and other finds are reported from the area of SP805644.

{6} Finds are in Northampton Museum except for the quern which was with A.E.Brown in 1970.
