Summary
A rectangular enclosure is visible on air photographs. Ground investigation in 1973 revealed a scatter of Roman pottery and some stone extending over the area. The pottery is mainly late and consists of colour coated and grey ware sherds with one mortarium fragment. Interpreted as the possible site of a Roman villa.

Full Description
{1} TL 08028490 A small rectangular enclosure 100 ft by 50 ft revealed on APs (a). Ground inspection in January 1973 produced a scatter of Roman pottery and some stone in this area extending SE towards Ellands Farm. The pottery is mainly late and consists of colour coated and grey ware sherds with one mortarium fragment.
