Full Description

{1} TL 0815 8538: The complete upper portion of a Hunsbury type rotary quern was found some years ago by F M Chapman of Kingsthorpe Lodge. Field walking at the site in January 1973 revealed a marked stone scatter 70 yards north east - south west by 20 yards with the stones concentrated in three areas within this zone. Other finds included a limestone disc and colour-coated, grey and calcite gritted sherds. One sherd was identified as probably Iron Age. Listed under Roman period.
