Full Description

{1} Fieldwalking following deep ploughing. An extensive scatter of late medieval pottery and cut limestone building material. This presumably represents the position of buildings formerly part of Elmington village. The debris extends for 130m to the west from the A605, along the hedgeline towards the railway. The ridge and furrow pattern here is interrupted, perhaps because it came into contact with building plots.
