Full Description

{1} Find made in 1890 of a Neolithic/early Bronze Age dagger which was found near Weldon. A fine chipped flint dagger was discovered in 1890 'near Weldon'. It is now known to have been found at SP911894.

{8} Beaker period flint dagger found in a field called little Wansford in 1890. It is 17cm long by 6cm wide, made of dark grey-black flint with slightly serrated cutting edges. It has the unusual number of three notches on each side. Drawing.

{1} A good specimen of a Ne/EBA 'Beaker' type flint knife 6 1/2" long was found in 1890 in a field known as Little Wansford, near Great Weldon. The V.C.H. has a good photograph. T.J. GEORGE suggests this to be the "Finely worked flint spear head" (W.C. WELLS) listed under WELDON.

{12 "Little Wansford" was not identified. The presen location of the find was not ascertained.
