Find Spot record 2578/0/0 - Unstratified Neolithic axe, Weldon

A Neolithic flint axe from Great Weldon is in Northampton Museum (accession number ZL 8), was given by J Rooke. It was found at Weldon Grange, and it is probably the axe listed in additions to the Museum, 1890-1, as "Rockingham Forest."

{4} A Neolithic flint axe, 14.1cm by 14.9cm, from Great Weldon, in Northampton Museum, Acc. No:ZL 8, was given by J. Rooke, Esq. It is narrow with a patch of cortex visible and polished on its cutting edge. It was found at Weldon Grange, (a) and it is probably the axe listed in additions to the Museum, 1890-1, as Rockingham Forest.' (b).
