Monument record 2603/0/1 - Possible Early Saxon Grave

An early Saxon spearhead and bones were found at a depth of 6ft during sewer laying prior to 1960.

{1} Find of pre 1960. Early Saxon spearhead and bones, possibly a burial. Found during sewer laying at a depth of 6ft.

{3} [TL 07649115] A Saxon spearhead (confirmed by British Museum) with bones was found at a depth of 6ft by workmen digging sewers. The bones were lost, but a grave seems to be the reasonable explanation.

{4} Mr Londesborough is dead. No further information.
