Monument record 2659/0/4 - Two Early Saxon Inhumations

Two extended inhumation burials found during building operations in April 1968. They were lying in a single shallow grave; near the neck of one was an iron knife of the 6th-7th centuries.

{1} Features identified during building development at Great Weldon in 1968. Two early Saxon inhumations in a shallow grave. One was buried with a C6th-C7th iron knife.

{4} The skeletons were found by Mr Willock, 2 Kettering Road, Weldon at precisely SP 9250089427.
The skeletal meterial was sent by Dr Andrews (Kettering Hosp) to the BM.
