Monument record 2750 - Willow Brook Complex

Willow Brook cropmark complex of ditches and enclosures of possible Prehistoric or Roman periods, seen on air photographs.

{1} Willow Brook Complex consists of a group of features, visible only on air photographs, on the N. of the Willow Brook, on gravel at 75 ft above OD in the N.W. of the parish.

Ring Ditch (TL 04919422), diam. 20 m.

Ring Ditch (TL 04829418), diam 20 m., intersected by a short length of ditch.

Enclosures and Linear Ditch (TL 047942) consists of at least two conjoined rectangular enclosures associated with pits and ditches, which are crossed by a long linear ditch running E.-W. traceable for some 520 m.

[HER note: the RCHME volume illustrates a second ring ditch adjacent to the rectangular enclosure which was not subsequently identified during the Northants NMP and therefore not drawn.]
