Full Description

{1}Quantities of Roman pottery, associated with an area of dark soil, were found in 1964.

{4} Indicated area recently cleared of hay and now stubble in which neither surface pottery was found nor "a black patter" identified. A farm worker consulted recalled the "Roman pottery" being found "years ago" but could remember neither the circumstances nor even an approximate area; the farm manager knew nothing of the find.
Moore {1} used an anonymous note on Northampton Museum as his sole authority for publication.
Topographically the indicated findspot falls in a high open position on a north-east facing slope.
Nothing noted on Aps {5}.
