Two polished Neolithic stone axes have been found in the parish. Summary from record 5503/0/0: Part of a Neolithic polished stone axe was found in 1974 and part of another found in 1969.

Full Description

{1} Part of a polished stone axe of Group VI, Great Langdale type, was found in 1974 (SP 980933) and part of another polished axe of greenstone, probably of Cornish origin, was found in the parish in about 1969.

{2} Langdale Axe thin sectioned in 1978.
