Summary

Roman pottery and a quern have been found, associated with a small area of building material. Cropmarks of rectilinear and irregular enclosures have been identified in the same area from aerial photographs.

Full Description

{1}Roman Settlement at SP 9220 6130. Roman pottery and a quernstone have been found, associated with a small area of building material:

{3} Romano-British pottery; one small area of building stone; quernstone. Glacial gravel;

{5} Air photographs (In NMR) show vague cropmarks, suggesting at least two small enclosures and an irregular length of ditch;

{6} Mr Hall said this is a small occupation site located in arable land

{7} This area was assessed as part of the Bedford Borough NMP aerial survey project. No features as described above were visible on any of the available aerial photographs.
