Full Description
{2} Near to the east end of the trackway at SP911644 Roman pottery associated with a patch of charcoal and burnt pebbles has been found.
{3} Fieldwalking; charcoal, pebbles and Romano-British pot sherds have been found.
{4} Cropmarks of probable Iron Age/Roman enclosures including a D-shaped and curvilinear enclosure
{5} RB sherds, patch of charcoal with burnt pebbles found at (SP) 911644 in the parish of Wollaston
{6} Site under crop. Mr Hall said this was a small site but well represented with the finds noted above.
{4/7} A D-shaped ditched enclosure of probable Iron Age or Roman date is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs and was mapped as part of the Bedford Borough NMP project. Located in a field about 714 metres E of Abbey Farm and centred at SP 91198 64380, a 1 metre wide ditch encloses an area about 17 x 16 metres, with the curvilinear sides SE facing. Some 52 metres to the SW are some fragmentary linear and curvilinear ditches that may be further ditched enclosures. Romano-British sherds have been identified nearby (NRHE 347129), but may not be associated.
