Summary

A drain/conduit was discovered during building work at the hall in 1991. It was probably constructed at around the same time as the hall in 1738.

Full Description

{1} Watching brief undertaken 11/04/1991 by G Cadman. A tunnel was revealed running west from the cellar of the hall for 26.5m. The eastern continuation was blocked by a roof fall. It was constructed of unmortared limestone and was 0.7m wide and 1.64m high. The floor was stone with small drains adjoining. The hall was built in 1738.
