Monument record 3293/0/1 - Iron Age and Roman settlement

Iron Age pottery sherds and the remains of a 4th century Roman building were found during building development on Sharplands. Further Roman pottery and coins have also been found to the south

{1} South of the village, on limestone at 78m aOD. Iron Age sherds, under a 4th century structure of wood and plaster, were found during building work. Three coins of Valens were also found, and Roman pottery, including Samian, was discovered nearby (at SP 880598);
