Summary

A Neolithic flint axehead was found by a Mr Saint on a field surface in January 1966, apparently near to some drainage ditches. In 1970, the axe was still in Mr Saint's possession.

{1} Find of a Neolithic flint axe made in January 1966

{3} (SP 875581) Ne flint axe found by Mr Saint on field surface Jan 1966. Ditches seen by R Hollowell, Aug 1967.

{4} Mr Saint, Hackleton, confirms the site and retains the axe. Hollowell {3} states that the ditches are drainage. The indicated find spot is now rough pasture; adjacent ditches are certainly drainage and unworthy of mention.
