Full Description

{1} Surface finds from 1961 consist of leaf shaped arrowheads, scrapers and other worked flints, Iron Age sherds, animal bones, a bone tool, and dark patches which might indicate pits. Site name: Sandy Allotments.

{4} A Roman bronze pin was found. Ring ditch and Iron Age settlement (SP 82585917) NE of the village, onBoulder clay and gravel at 100 m. above OD. The ring ditch, visible indistinctly on air photographs (in NMR), has a diam. of 20 m. In the same area finds include Iron Age pottery and animal bones associated with circular patches of dark soil, possible pits.

{5} Leaf shaped flint arrowhead found in July 1972.

{7} (SP 826592) Iron Age rubbish pits, bone tool, flint scrapers and sherds. Leaf-shaped arrowhead and other worked flints 1962.

{8} Mr Hollowell said all the material he has found in the area is now in Northampton Museum.
