Full Description

{1} Area of SP828562. The lines of two parallel ditches could be traced on the surface of the field, together with a scatter of stone and a patch of dark earth.

{2} Centred east of The Oaks at SP828561. Two parallel ditches about 33m apart, perhaps part of a ditched enclosure, have been traced in the ploughsoil.

{3} A soilmark was recognised in 1963 during ground survey. Two parallel ditches c.33m apart and black patches suggesting pits. No photos seen.

{5} SP 827561 The Oaks. Several 2nd-4thc sherds, stones, black patches indicating pits and two parallel ditches about 33m apart found in 1963. R Hollowell confirms the above area and the nature of the finds, which were left on the site. He cannot trace his photograph (which he "believes" he took) but will fly the area later this year. Moore (Authy 2) has not seen an AP; he quotes Hallowell as his authority.

{6} (SP828563) Ditched enclosure and RB sherds. R Hollowell Dec 1963.
