Full Description

{3} Great Houghton. The Mere (SP 803595), kiln bars and pottery.

{4} Roman kiln site. Roman pottery and kiln bars were found in 1957.

{6} Fieldwalking in 1957 recovered Romano-British pot sherds including grey ware, samian and Castor ware as well as yellow tile, brick, a fragment of bronze with rivet and a kiln bar. The site sits in the corner of the field and is cut by the road.

{8} (SP 801594) RB pottery and kiln bar found 1957, R Hollowell.

{9} Probably a spread of one or two closely associated sites. Moore (a) notes only Authy 1, and Authy 2 (whose site is located in Little Houghton) makes no mention of this. Both areas at present grass
