Fieldwalking survey undertaken in the late 1960s identified a flint scatter

Full Description

{1} Neolithic and Bronze Age flints including two leaf shaped arrowheads, one Bronze Age barbed and tanged arrowhead, as well as medieval pot sherds were found during fieldwalking;

{3} SP 853606. Coarse late Md sherds from field next to Whiston church.

{4} Whiston. SP853606. B A arrowhead and five other worked flints found in field.

{5} Mr Hollowell now has two leaf arrowheads and three scrapers added to his collection from this site. He said medieval pottery is plentiful adjacent to the church but this is not unexpected.
