Full Description

{1} Site visit by G.Foard on 21/09/1987. Followed clearance of trees from the site in September 1987.

{4} Ponds (SP 85075877) immediately NE of SP 85 NE 42 in a similar position. Known as Paradise Ponds, they now consist of an elaborate arrangement of ponds and water-courses, probably constructed in the C18th or early C19th. They existed in their present form in 1840. However, it is possible that they originated as medieval fishponds connected with the moated site of Chadstone hamlet.
