Monument record 3743/0/0 - Unstratified Iron Age & Romano-British Pot Scatter

A scatter of Romano-British sherds including some possibly Iron Age found when field walking to check cropmarks visible on aerial photographs of 1947. The cropmarks remained unidentified and later examination of the images were inconclusive. Medieval sherds and tiles were later found in the same area.

{1} Fieldwalking recovered Iron Age and Romano-British pot sherds.

{3} Thin scatter of Romano-British coarse ware sherds over extensive sandy area; several possible Iron Age C types.

{4} Mr Fox confirmed the site and stated that the finds, in hispossession, had been made from 1966 onwards.
The site is under pasture, no surface remains were seen.
