Summary

Four Iron Age coins, one known to be ironstone workings north of Kettering, but the provenance of the other three is unknown

Full Description

{1, 2, 3} Unlocated finds within the county; four Iron Age coins.
1- an Evans type B:6, an uninscribed gold stater (Mack type 28- Westerham Type); WC Wells Collection {1, 2, 3}

{1, 2,4} 2- an Evans type 9:13 (Mack type 209); a gold quarter stater of Cunobelinus; inscription: CVNA; W C Wells Collection.

3- Evans type VI:2 (Mack type 166); a silver coin of Tasciovanus in Kettering Museum; presumably the same coin found in 1922 'in the Kettering district' and reported by Mr J Bellamy as a coin of Tasciovanus;
4- A coin of Dumnovellanus found in ironstone workings to the north of Kettering; this is the only coin certainly from the ironstone workings {1, 5}

{11} All the coins are in Kettering Museum, but no precise find spots are recorded.
