Full Description
{1} Excavation in 1967 exposed a deep silt filled trench running east-west. Much hand-made pottery was recovered including plain rim, burnished vessels, and large, very thick, shelly ware, with a gritty surface. Numerous animal bones including part of a large dog were also recovered. The upper layers of silt held much limestone rubble and burnt sandstone cobbles from 1 in to 9 in in diameter.
